We are excited to welcome enthusiastic young learners, ages 5–14, to join us in exploring our islands, connecting with local culture, and growing through fun, hands-on experiences.

Agricultural Career Exploration Summer Program 2025

On July 12th - 25th 2025, we will be having an Agricultural Career Exploration Summer Program (ACE) at the University of the Virgin Islands Albert A. Sheen Campus St. Croix. This year's ACE aims to bring students (Territory -wide (USVI) 7th - 12th graders, Ages 12 - 17) awareness of various career pathways within and/or relating to the agricultural industry.

Exposing students at earlier ages to activities within horticulture, biotechnology, animal science, food science, and other agriculture-related sectors will increase their curiosity and desire to pursue these industries prior to selecting their initial collegiate tracts or entering the general workforce. Additionally, by staying on-campus in the dormitories, and participating in various scheduled cultural and leadership workshops, students will exchange ideas and forge relationships that may last a lifetime.

Application pick up and drop off will be located on St. Croix UVI Research and Extension Center Room 106 and St. Thomas UVI New House Building. Applications can also be found on our SOA website, soa.uvi.edu. For more information email soaace@uvi.edu.

 St. Croix! On Sunday, April 27, The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) School of Agriculture (SOA) will host a Field Day from 1p.m. to 4 p.m. Join us for an exciting day of exploration and learning! agricultural exhibits on display.

St. Croix - Dissertation Presentation

UVI School of Agriculture, Agricultural Experiment Station, Research Specialist- Agronomy, Mr. David Hensley, will present his dissertation defense on March 21st at 9:00 a.m. NWW103. It includes a chapter about the plantain experiment as well as studies on runoff and erosion in the guts. What is a farm?
In the hashtag#AgCensus, a farm is any place that produced and sold, or normally would have sold, $500 or more of agricultural products in 2023. Producers, please have your farm records available for this vital data collection. Your cooperation is required by law, as this census is the only source of comprehensive and impartial agriculture statistics for the U.S. Virgin Islands. The data will show the value and importance of agriculture in the islands as well as trends, challenges, and other changes over the last five years. The ag census is Your Voice. Your Future.
